Volunteer Openings:


Disaster Services Volunteers:
Prepare, prevent, and respond to local and/or national disasters, ensuring that disaster victims' emergency needs for food, clothing, and shelter are met. Red Cross volunteers and paid staff are prepared to deliver assistance twenty-four hours a day every day of the year to disaster victims in Stanislaus County.

International Services:
Provide International Humanitarian services such as holocaust tracing services to link community members to families and loved ones around the world.

Armed Forces & Emergency Services Caseworkers:
Help military personnel and their families receive vital communications and assistance during times of emergency. Call 523-6451.

Health & Safety Services and Water Safety:
The Red Cross is a major health education resource for Stanislaus County residents. Trained, paid and volunteer staff teach classes in CPR, First Aid, Babysitting, HIV/AIDS education, Lifeguarding WSI, and more. Red Cross first aid stations provide first response medical assistance at community events throughout Stanislaus County.

Clerical & Administrative Services:
Every department at the Red Cross requires clerical support. Assistance is always needed for reception duties, bulk mailings, telephoning, and data entry. Duties will vary with each department.

Youth Connections:
Are you ready to change your life? Join the Red Cross Youth Corps and see the many opportunities we have for you. Create change and touch lives in your community and have the time of your life doing it. Contact us for more information.

Special Events:
Enjoy helping others to enjoy Red Cross events such as the CPR Saturday, the annual meeting (including volunteer recognition), and more. Assist with planning, volunteer recruitment, registration, check-in, set-up and clean-up.

Office Volunteer:
This job can be adjusted to suit your unique talents and skills. May include filing, typing, copying, data entry, inventory, accounting, etc. You may choose to work in a particular office or cross-train.

Community Disaster Educator:
Accompany another volunteer or staff member to schools, churches, corporations, etc. where, using a script and visual aids, you will teach the latest techniques to prevent or minimize harm following a disaster. Training and on-going support provided. Call 523-6451.

Public Relations:
Put you writing, photography or organizational skills to use in this high-visibility area.

Corporate Education:
Market life-saving skills courses to business and industry.

Health Fair and Sales Show Representative:
Represent the Red Cross at community and corporate health and safety fairs. Staff information booth and sell Red Cross disaster equipment. Call 523-6451.

Gardeners:
The Red Cross has a garden and common grounds, and both need occasional sprucing up. You are encouraged to come and dig in the dirt! as a school project, or got time on your hands!

Leadership Volunteer:
The American Red Cross is a volunteer-led organization. Our leardership volunteer committees determine our direction, set policy, develop programs and plan special events. Committees include Health & Safety Services, Emergency Services, Development, Public Relations and Office of Volunteers.

Gift Wrapping: (November & December)
Every holiday season the American Red Cross wraps Christmas gifts for a tax deductible donation. This annual event benefits the Shoes for Kids and the Blankets for the Homeless programs. Volunteers to help wrap and donations of wrapping paper and supplies are needed. If you are interested in helping or would like to have your gifts wrapped, call 523-6451.
